My Journey into UX Design
The UX Design Process & Me
RESEARCH
When approaching the user centred design process, I consider research to be important foundations when trying to empathise with users and clients. This enables me to fully understand their goals and objectives in order to then hypothesis assumptions which require validation. I tackle this phase using a range of methods; SEO analysis, interviews, domain research, comparative/competitor analysis, guerrilla research/online surveys, affinity diagrams and site mapping to identify and define users' problems.
PLANNING
My goal for the planning phase is to extract insights from the information gathered during the research phase— it enables me to confirm any assumptions made within the research phase are validated. At this time, I would aim to understand and organise learnings into categories of ‘what’ users want, think and need and then begin to understand the ‘why’ they want, think and need that.
DESIGN
I always love the challenge of a design brief. I take this and combine it with information gathered from the clients goals and objectives and user requirements, which enable me to generate concepts that provide variations on the products potential usability. Im always striving to improve my designs so I actively collaborate and welcome feedback from colleagues in order to iterate on designs to be sure I am solving problems.
PROTOTYPING
I feel this stage is a very important part of the design process and allows for the identification of issues that can be rectified before launch. I am proficient with tools; Sketch, InVision, Marvel in order to create rapid prototypes or produce high, fidelity testable prototypes for actual users that resemble the final product experience.
EVALUATING & TESTING
This is another important step in my design process. Testing with real users allows for valuable feedback, in order to ensure the user goals have been met and usability has been validated. I have experience running and reporting usability tests, heuristic evaluations, walkthroughs and more.
More about me...
A curious mind, always wanting to explore both my surroundings and my inner limits. The world of UX satisfies my inner creative soul and my yearning to add value and help make the lives of users a better place one UX challenge at a time. Welcome to my world....
